Refreshed Living at Sri Wangsaria Condominium Bangsar

When we were asked to refresh an old condominium at Sri Wangsaria to help an elderly owner live better, we couldn't be more excited. This existing unit had a series of difficulties over the life of the project, including leaking pipes from adjacent units, mold, loud plumbing, low ceilings and beams everywhere.

We worked with the owner to visually clean up the lines in the home, beginning from the living room.

Cabinets on the right wall serve as storage as well as a feature wall cleaning up the beams and columns along that wall. A new ceiling feature was built up to create a low transition from the dining to the kitchen. A kitchenette was introduced to bring the functionality of the kitchen into the living area while preserving the closed kitchen. The finish selections focused on keeping things as white and bright as possible without making it feel clinical. Complimentary warm off-whites for laminates color the rooms in a pastel manner. Strong materials such as a darker marble was chosen to contrast the light colors at the feature kitchenette. The existing dining tables and cabinets and chandelier, were slated for refinishing and preservation accenting the space with the owner's history. Large format tiles help provide a seamless floor look, while complementary floor tiles zone the furniture and areas in the space.

We cleared an existing storage room to open up the kitchen to accomodate an island. We included finer floor tiles at the island area to demarcate the central area. A large light above the island mimicks a skylight lighting up the space. A mirror at the beyond enlarges the feeling of the space.
